It has been said that “teaching kids to count isn’t nearly as important as teaching them what counts.” Conceived by North Shore Day School Executive Director Jay Jacobs, the STARFISH Program is the cornerstone of our commitment to developing character.
Children will learn about each of these qualities through their entire educational experience—whether using Sportsmanship while playing games outside on the field, or learning Friendship while working on a project in Art Class with a classmate. Our teachers and staff incorporate these values in a way that helps children learn the lessons without seeming like they’re being taught.
STARFISH is the core principle of North Shore Day School and North Shore Day Camp, as well as all the other members of the TLC Family of Camps.
